You have to practice your craft, learn new tricks, invent new tricks, and just work at it every day. Is it possible to make a living as a stage magician these days? Well..sure, but it’s like the acting profession…while you’re waiting for your big break, you’ll have to wait on a lot of tables.

David Copperfield is the name most people know today – although his last television special was in 2001. Criss Angle is also very popular, as are Penn and Teller – but I think more because of the goriness of their act rather than anything else.That is it, of course. Every magician needs a shtick, something that makes their act memorable and different from anybody else’s. The trappings are everything.
